Atticus and The Trial
I felt like it was the right thing to do when the people in the balcony stood for Attcus because he was the only white person that would defend a black person. Everyone else hated black people and he treated them as his equal. The people in the balcony stand up because they were greatful for Atticus because no one would do what Atticus would do, and that is defend a black person. Losing a battle when you know your right is better than winning a battle that you know you lost because if you lose but you know your right, other people are going to respect you for being honest. It is bad when you know your wrong and you won because other people might look down on you for cheating or because you will do anything to win even if you hurt someone in the process. I once lost a battle like this when I was younger and playing monopoly with my sister, I won, but I cheated. When she wasn't looking I would take some money from the bank. After about the second time she found out and told my parents. She wasn't to mad but my parents wouldn't let me play for a while.
